La Escuela de Negocios IESE, de la Universidad de Navarra, España, sostuvo la transmisión en vivo «Forging Ahead: weathering the continuing storm in shipping and logistics», con la participación de Rolf Habben Jensen, CEO Hapag-Lloyd, donde el ejecutivo contestó las preguntas más populares por estos días.
Ciertamente, la ‘nueva normalidad’ presenta desafíos y, quizás, cambios permanentes, como el caso del trabajo remoto. «Desde mediados de marzo que toda la compañía ha estado trabajando desde casa. Por lo tanto, esto ha cambiado la manera en que trabajamos, probablemente de manera permanente«, destacó el CEO. Dentro de las naves la situación es diferente, ya que aún se necesitan personas para operarlas. «Estamos trabajando con tripulaciones completas, pero hemos tenido problemas para hacer sus reemplazos«, agregó.
Sin embargo, el cambio más importante y el que quizás se quede para siempre, es el nuevo patrón en la cadena logística. «Antes de la crisis del Covid-19 ya había una tendencia de diversificación de la carga y ahora lo estamos viendo más pronunciado. La redistribución será una realidad en la cadena logística global que no dejará de existir«.

Certainly, the ‘new normal’ presents challenges and, perhaps, permanent changes, as in the case of remote work. ‘Since mid-March the whole company has been working from home. Therefore, this has changed the way we work, probably permanently,’ said the CEO. Within the ships the situation is different, as people are still needed to operate them. We are working with full crews, but we have had trouble making their replacements,’ he added.
But the most important change, and one that may remain forever, is the new pattern in the logistics chain. Before the Covid-19 crisis there was already a trend towards a diversification of the burden, and we are now seeing it more pronounced. Redistribution will be a reality in the global logistics chain which will not cease to exist.

Dentro dos navios, a situação é diferente, pois ainda são necessárias pessoas para operá-los. “Estamos trabalhando com equipes completas, mas tivemos problemas para fazer suas substituições” adicionou.
